Faux 3D app for Windows Phone 7

Have you ever wondered what a 3D capable Windows Phone 7 handset looks like? Well unfortunately it does not look like Microsoft has any plans to put out a 3D capable device any time soon, but for those interested, there is an app developed for the WP7 platform called HoloPhone3D that simulates what 3D could look like on a WP7 device.

I have to admit, it does look pretty darn real, and while I can’t really see the point of having 3D on your phone, it does add a whole new dimension (no pun intended) to the user experience. It’s basically a simulation app and it doesn’t really do anything much, although there are a couple of 3D models and games that you can mess around with. It will cost you $0.99 and it is available from the Windows Phone Marketplace.
