So, you happen to be a Verizon Wireless subscriber, and own an LG G3 flagship device. If that is the case, then chances are you would have noticed that your device is more or less the last to pick up the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, at least among the other carriers that also offer the handset. Being the biggest doesn’t mean that one is the fastest, but then again, there is always the other adage of “better late than never”, right?
We are pleased to inform Verizon LG G3 owners that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is now available for download, although it might take some time for the rollout to be completed across the entire spectrum of their customers, as with any other update rollout, regardless of the mobile carrier.
Ellipsis 10 Tablet From Verizon Announced
It looks like the folks over at Verizon have stepped up to the plate by offering a brand new tablet for the masses which will follow up from their 2013 offering, which was the 7” Ellipsis. This time around, the tablet on offering would be known as the Ellipsis 10, and based on the name alone, it is rather obvious that this is a 10” device.
It will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop however, so forget about Marshmallow at the moment. It will also be accompanied by the likes of 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, where it sports a 5MP camera at the back, with a 2MP front-facing shooter, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, “angular firing stereo speakers”, 16GB of internal memory, 4G LTE connectivity and a beefy 9,100 mAh battery. It will retail for $199.99 a pop with a new two-year contract, or you can pick it up or $299.99 all-in. [Press Release]
Verizon To Get Motorola Droid Kinzie
If you are on the lookout for a new Motorola handset, there is no reason not to look forward to the upcoming Motorola Droid Kinzie from Verizon Wireless. This smartphone has seen more of its hardware specifications revealed in a leaked benchmark reading, where we do know that it will boast of a 5.5” QHD (2,560 x 1,440) touchscreen display, a 5MP camera in front, a 20MP camera at the back with 4K video capture ability, 3GB RAM, and 32GB of internal memory.
There will also be Android 5.1.1 Lollipop running alongside a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset that will boast of four high-performance Cortex-A57 cores and an equal number of Cortex-A53 ones. Connectivity options will include NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS, and chances are the Motorola Droid Kinzie will be out in stores later this October if history does repeat itself.
Verizon Nexus 6 Confirmed In Leaked Marketing Material
I am quite sure that many people have already heard word concerning a Verizon-branded model of the Nexus 6 for quite some time already. Well, one can only say that the stock-powered Android phablet has been a rather difficult “creature” to spot – where even Google CFO Patrick Pichette did admit last month that they were unable to obtain enough inventory in order to cover demand for the device. The Nexus 6 can be considered to be a success in this sense, and it seems that Verizon subscribers can hope to see it arrive soon.
After all, that is what it looks like through a leaked marketing material that points to such a possibility. The label that is on the package itself did mention that it is Merchandising material from Verizon, and there was the specific phrase “Nexus 6 Launch” spotted there. True or otherwise, all that we can do is sit tight and wait.
