Instagram is expected to announce a partnership with Hipstamatic soon an online source reports. This is very meaningful as it would be the first time that Instagram has opened up its API to a third party. Fast Company reports that the company known for their $1.99 photo-filtering iPhone app, Hipstamatic will now allow their users to port their photos directly into Instagram’s vast network with a mere click. Hipstamatic co-founder and CEO Lucas Buick also told Fast Company that Instagram, which now claims 27 million users, has become a primary photography hub.
When Hipstamatic was launched Lucas Buick stated that it was all about Facebook, Flickr and Twitter. As of late however, they had seen a huge shift of their user base towards Instagram. He also said that while Hipstamatic has never been a social networking company, an app that acts as a photography hub would work hand in hand with one. He then states that Hipstamatic will be the first app outside of Instagram that is allowed into their network and calls it ‘cool’ to boot
When Hipstamatic photos appear on Instagram, they will be marked “Taken with Hipstamatic”. Also Instagram users who can see the Hipstamatic tag can click on it to trigger the opening of either Hipstamatic or the App Store page for Hipstamatic. As of now, Hipstamatic has 4 million users who upload 48 million photos a month and given that one of Hipstamatic representatives released a statement that a ‘significant’ update will be rolled out for the app soon, it won’t be long until the partnership begins. If this relationship does take off, who knows what other application Instagram would allow to enter their network? Besides this, another massive event on Instagram’s agenda is the production of the long-awaited Android app which is expected to be released any day.

iPad Air 3 Not Coming This Year According To Rumors
It looks like the folks over at Digitimes have come up with their own interpretation of things to come – that there will be no iPad Air 3 released, at least for this year. Digitimes has had their fair share of hits and misses in the past, so it would be best to take this rumor concerning the non-release of the iPad Air 3 in 2015 with a pinch of salt.
Digitimes also laid claim that the iPad mini 4 will not be as supercharged as some of the rumors that had been going around, as it will bring with it only small and incremental upgrades when compared to its predecessor, the iPad mini 3. This does not seem to bode well for fans of the compact tablet, taking into consideration how the iPad mini 3 itself was improved over its predecessor with a new Touch ID fingerprint reader.
Since Apple tends to roll out a new iPad in October, we will just have to sit tight and see whether this particular rumor has enough “legs” to run.
