Verizon announces Droid Xyboard tablets

Published

on

We knew that Motorola had new tablets in the works, and it appears that Verizon has finally decided to officially announce the availability of both the Droid Xyboard 10.1 and Xyboard 8.2 for this month, although no specific dates were mentioned.

For those unfamiliar, the Xyboard 10.1 and Xyboard 8.2 were originally known as the Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition who had their names changed for Verizon’s network, which means that they should still be known as the Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition in stores unlocked or in other countries.

Apart from the difference in screen size, both tablets will keep the same internal hardware, meaning that customers should be able to expect 1.2GHz dual-core processors, 1GB of RAM, Gorilla Glass displays, 5MP/1.3MP rear/front-facing cameras and will come loaded with Android Honeycomb 3.2 that will eventually be upgraded to Android 4.0 in the future.

The Droid Xyboard 10.1 will be available in a 16GB version for $529.99, a 32GB version for $629.99, and a 64GB version for $729.99. The Xyboard 8.2 will cost $429.99 for the 16GB version and $529.99 for the 32GB version. Both of which will require you to sign on to a two year contract with Verizon.

Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Back Cases Leaked

Published

on

droid-turbo-2-coverIt looks like there is more to the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 that we can look at this time around, where the smartphone is set to be the very first Droid-branded smartphone that is set to be made available to the masses via Moto Maker. Just in case you were wondering, Moto Maker happens to be Motorola’s very own online hardware customization service. The newly leaked image points to a variety of back covers – perhaps even all of them, where it seems that some are made out of leather, others carrying the possibility of a kevlar case, or perhaps some kind of fabric.

As for the hardware specifications, the Droid Turbo 2 is tipped to arrive with a “shatterproof” QHD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of internal memory, and a generous 3,760 mAh battery. Can’t wait for October 27th for the official unveiling!

Motorola Bounce Said To Be ‘Shatterproof’

Published

motorola-bounceFancy an indestructible phone? That sounds like something right up the Impossible Mission Force’s alley, as those are the folks who are involved in high level espionage and live a life that hangs on the edge, getting into all sorts of scrapes and what not. Having said that, here is a little bit of something that might suit them – the Motorola Bounce, which is also known as the X Force in certain circles.

Well, apparently, it has been said to come with a “shatterproof” build, which can be rather difficult to believe in the first place, but who knows? The Motorola Bounce is also said to arrive with a 5.43” QHD display, a Qualcomm MSM8994 chipset, a choice of either 32GB or 64GB of internal memory, 3GB of RAM, a 21MP shooter at the back with a 5MP camera in front, and a 3,760mAh battery. Ah well, we will just have to wait for it to be revealed to know more.

3rd Generation Moto G Spotted With 2GB RAM

Published

on

moto3indiaIt looks like the third generation Moto G from Motorola is about to be on the receiving end of 2GB RAM, as opposed to questions of whether it will come with just 1GB RAM or not. A posting on Indian export-import site Zauba has shown that 190 units of the upcoming third generation Moto G model were sent from Hong Kong to India for testing purposes, with half the number of those being black, while the remaining number were white in color.

Other than having listed down 2GB RAM, it also listed 8GB of internal memory, where each model was valued at $240 a pop. A couple more handsets shipped to India for testing were listed at a far lower value. All in all, we will simply have to wait for the official reveal as to ascertain whether this particular generation of the Moto G will come with 1GB RAM or double that amount this coming July 28th as Motorola holds an event in New York which will most probably tell all by then.
