AT&T Mobile HotspotPersonally I think it’s unfair for carriers to charge tethering fees. After all what and how I use my data is really up to me. After all if you gave me a 1GB data cap, if I decide to blow through it really fast by using my computer to connect with it, then that’s just my loss and the additional data charges is the carrier’s profit, right?

While I’m sure there are others who disagree with me, AT&T has decided to do something about it. If users are caught tethering their devices through unofficial means, especially if they are running on past unlimited data packages, they will be moved over to AT&T’s $45/mo 2GB data cap plan.

This isn’t news as AT&T has warned customers about this earlier in the year, but it looks like they are now actively going about putting it into effect.
