Microsoft acquires Danger, just to sound more tough

[MWC] Microsoft made a live announcement today over at 3GSM about their acquisition of mobile software and Sidekick company Danger for an undisclosed amount of dough. Danger will be added to Microsoft's mobile branch. Does this mean a Windows Mobile Sidekick is on its way? We don't see why not. Can Microsoft ruin the Sidekick? We don't see why not. Can they finally have their own phone manufacturing shtick on the rise despite Ballmer's disapproval (ahem...Zune phone)? We most likely don't see why not. [Press Release]

T-Mobile announced the suspension of the sale of any Sidekick Slide phones after a confirmation from Motorola about a problem that makes the phone power off after the slide device is opened or closed. Customers who have this problem with their device should contact a T-Mobile representative by either calling in to customer support or visiting one of their stores. This problem only affects the newest Sidekick Slide models, and should be fine now that Motorola has caught the problem.

There was a time when the only kid on the block was the Sidekick LX, though T-Mobile now has another bully in town. The Sidekick Slide is now available on T-Mobile's website and at their retail stores for $199 with a two-year contract. The Motorola designed Slide doesn't quite beat out the old Sharp-sourced LX spec wise, though maintains a much more streamline design, not to mention a much lower price tag.
