RIM expected to announce BBX platform at DevCon later this month

Some are believing that the QNX platform will be what saves RIM’s Blackberry smartphones. The QNX operating system was used on the Blackberry Playbook tablet, which many consider to be a failure, although this had nothing to do with its platform or hardware, but rather the lack of support for native apps such as BBM.

According to various sources, Blackberry is set to unveil the new name for their QNX-based operating system at Blackberry DevCon later this month, and as the image above suggests, it will be called BBX, a combination of Blackberry + QNX.
