Home > android > Developers Beat Motorola To The Punch For Unlocked Bootloader On Atrix 4G

As we all know, Motorola has been working on unlocking the bootloaders for their devices, and the Atrix 4G was supposed to be one of the first phones that would not only get the privilege of having its bootloader unlocked, but also to get the Android Gingerbread 2.3 update. Well, it looks like some developers just could not wait for the update to come out, and have taken it upon themselves to unlock the bootloader.

The unlocked bootloader is unfortunately only valid for AT&T devices, which means those living outside of the US should probably not attempt this, not until Motorola has pushed out the official update, along with the unlocked bootloader, via OTA. Until then, those on AT&T and living in the US can just head on down to XDA’s forums for more details and instructions.
