The almighty FCC has recently put the Asus P320 through a battery of tests, and apparently it came out with flying colors. I guess this means we will be able to see the Asus P320 hit the streets sometime in the near future, but in the meantime I'll leave you drooling over its specifications.

Google has announced that their Google Gears application is not available for Windows Mobile-powered devices. Google Gears allows users to access web-based applications even when there is no web-access. So pretty much, this means WinMo users will be able to access services such as Zoho, even when there is no active internet connection. Google hopes to get Gears working on other platforms soon. And you best bet that Android will have full support. Download it
Bill Gates, CEO of Microsoft, has made a statement saying that the software giant has no plans on offering a rival to the iPhone, and will further focus on their Windows Mobile software. While some of you might have been wanting to see a Zune Phone, this is a smart decision on Gates' part. Microsoft's game is software, not hardware. Apple will always have the upper hand over Microsoft as far as the hardware business goes. With the massive amount of Windows Mobile phones on the loose, Microsoft surely has their hands full on the phone front.
Both the Toshiba Portégé G910 and G920 have just received approval from the FCC, and from what we know, they will come with WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity, 3G support, with the latter boasting built-in GPS. Weird to know that the G910 has integrated GPS as well, but it has been turned off. What a waste of components if it isn't going to be used - hopefully somebody comes up with a hack to enable it, and we'll probably see tons of people flocking to the G910 instead of the G920 then. Other features include dual cameras with flash, a Qualcomm processor and Windows Mobile 6 Pro. No word on a release date just yet.
The Treo 750 is finally available to the masses - all without the burden of signing up with a wireless carrier. You get Windows Mobile 6 as the operating system of choice, in addition to HSDPA capability out of the box. This five-band world phone features Direct Push Technology connection, e-mail enhancements like HTML-formatted e-mail, sending an out-of-office message from the Treo 750 itself, a miniSD memory card slote, password and PIN improvements for better security, and an improved calendar amongst others. If you're a frequent traveler and are looking for a smartphone that suits all your needs, the Treo 750 certainly looks like a pretty strong candidate.
Windows Mobile 6.1 will soon be released, and it has already been spotted on a Motorola Q9 that features WiFi connectivity as well as the mentioned operating system. As expected, version 6.1 boasts a whole lot of gloss in the user interface department, giving you the ability to scroll both left and right to access missed calls, e-mails and text messages among others. The long awaited ability to set your own homepage in Internet Explorer has finally been put in, and surfers can now zoom into pages in a much cleaner user interface. In addition, copy and paste functionality has been thrown in along with a threaded SMS system that Treo users will definitely welcome.

Word on the street has it that Verizon is currently prepping a Samsung i760 world phone that will target frequent globetrotters. Needless to say, if it were to be a global handset, it will be both EV-DO and GSM with a chance for HSDPA to join in the party. Other than that, the rest of the i760's specifications ought to make it welcome in just about any corner of the world.
