Prepaid BlackBerry Internet From Indosat

Prepaid BlackBerry Internet From Indosat

Indosat Tbk and RIM (Research In Motion) have announced the launch of their “BlackBerry On Demand”, which is a prepaid option for BlackBerry Internet Service in Indonesia. It will be available as a 7-day or 30-day data plan, which should allow users a bit more flexibility in terms of choosing how they buy their data. This “BlackBerry On Demand” service will be available to prepaid and postpaid customers, and will give them unlimited data for the period that they sign up for. Users should be quite happy to get this kind of flexibility in terms of picking a data plan.

BlackBerry Kickstart What?

BlackBerry Kickstart What?

Now that it’s known that Canadian users will be able to get the Kickstart via Rogers, all that needs to be sorted out is the question of “what Kickstart?” It seems that the Kickstart will be known as the BlackBerry Pearl 8220. It is also mentioned that this phone will have an “attractive price point”, which could be indicating the rumored $49.99 price range.

BlackBerry Kickstart To Hit Rogers

BlackBerry Kickstart To Hit Rogers

If you were worrying that RIM’s BlackBerry Kickstart wouldn’t make it safely to Canada, you can breathe easy now. Boy Genius is reporting that Rogers will be getting hold of the Kickstart, and should be offering it with a contract as usual. Though there currently isn’t an exact date for the release, it shouldn’t be too far off the date that T-Mobile releases it.

Sexy BlackBerry Easter Egg

Sexy BlackBerry Easter Egg

There sure aren’t too many Easter eggs on the BlackBerry, and this latest find might just be the closest most people will ever get to one. It appears that the folks over at BlackBerry News have stumbled upon one when doing some testing on a simulator. It seems to happen when users receive a JVM error, and after scrolling to the “VM internal test” option and clicking the trackball, it’ll go through a series of screens, with some of the screens displaying the words “This is sexy isn’t it?” There is also some partially obscured text at the final screen that looks something like:

Oh no mr bill. something has

Oh nooo. Oh nooooooooo.

While nobody is 100% sure what it means, people are speculating that it might be a reference to Saturday Night Live’s Mr. Bill skit.

Chile Get First Dibs On BlackBerry Bold

Chile Get First Dibs On BlackBerry Bold

While it might be an unusual place to launch the BlackBerry Bold 9000, especially when it hasn’t been launched to the rest of the world yet, nobody in Chile is going to complain that they will be the first in the world to get RIM’s latest BlackBerry Bold 9000, via Chilean carrier Movistar. The Bold will be going for about $587 (after conversion) with a contract, which seems a little pricey, though it’s only slightly more expensive than what Movistar is currently charging for the BlackBerry Curve 8310. Hopefully the Bold will be released in America, Europe and the rest of the world soon.

Flowberry For The BlackBerry

Flowberry For The BlackBerry

While themes aren’t anything new, and most of them aren’t worth mentioning, this is one theme that is rather eye-catching, probably because it looks very much like Apple’s OSX, and is designed to run on the BlackBerry platform. This theme is called Flowberry, and as it name probably gives it away, it does its best to give users Apple’s Cover Flow effect. This theme is available at Bplay’s website, and is going for $6.99. This theme should support all BlackBerry models, though apparently the animation performance would be best on software 4.3 and above.

Sunset Colored BlackBerry Curve

Sunset Colored BlackBerry Curve

Pictures of T-Mobile’s WiFi-enabled Curve in its new color, “Sunset” have surfaced, are making their way around the internet. While this definitely won’t be as interesting as the BlackBerry Bold, an additional color to choose from can never be a bad thing.

BlackBerry Bold Delayed In The US

BlackBerry Bold Delayed In The US
Eager future-users of the BlackBerry Bold will be disappointed to find out that they have to wait a little bit longer for its release, as the Bold has just been delayed on both Rogers and AT&T. The delay probably won’t be too much of an issue for Rogers’ customers, as it has just been pushed back from July 25th to July 29th. Unfortunately AT&T has pushed the date from mid-July to mid-August, meaning it probably won’t hit the retail stores until about September 1st. The latest update from Engadget Mobile also states that Telstra has announced that the Bold will be released in Australia near the end of September, and will be available free to its business customers.

BlackBerry Enterprise Server Security Flaw

BlackBerry Enterprise Server Security Flaw

RIM has just issues a security warning to admins regarding BlackBerry Enterprise Server. It seems that there is a serious security flaw with the BlackBerry Attachment Service and PDF files. RIM has even gone so far as to rate the severity as 9 out of a possible 10. Said flaw apparently allows the hackers to execute malicious code via a specially crafted PDF file. The flaw affects BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) versions 4.1 SP3 to 4.1 SP5. Fortunately RIM currently has a workaround which involves disabling the processing of PDF files, which should suffice until a permanent fix is found.

Xtensor To Solve The BlackBerry Thumb?

Xtensor To Solve The BlackBerry Thumb?

Did you overdose on your BlackBerry and have a BlackBerry thumb now? The people who developed the Xtensor think they have the answer. This Xtensor is supposed to strengthen and rehabilitee the user’s hand from stress and injuries. Though there isn’t any clear indication of the effectiveness of the item, it still looks interesting to BlackBerry users. After all, trying to heal your hand is better than not trying to heal your hand.

Early BlackBerry Kickstart Review

Early BlackBerry Kickstart Review

CrackBerry has done everybody a favor and done an early review of the upcoming BlackBerry Kickstart. It seems the device will be offered as several models, each with different features. For instance, the 8820 which they reviewed has WiFi, and is destined for T-Mobile, whilst the 8810 has GPS, and will probably be snapped up by AT&T.

The other features should be in line with the previously known specs, which include a 2 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headphone jack, and microSD card expansion. The new BlackBerry Operating System is still undergoing testing, though reports indicate it works just fine with the tall internal LCD and also the external display. The Kickstart is rumored to be launched in September on T-Mobile USA and Rogers in Canada. Crackberry’s review of the Kickstart can be found here.
