It seems that the Curve should be available on T-Mobile sometime in Q4, while the 9630 Tour should be available on Verizon on July 13th. These aren’t official dates, but hopefully they’re accurate and will give us a guideline as to when the devices will be available.

Folks living in the UK looking for a firmware update for their BlackBerry Storm 9500 can pick up the latest official 4.7.0.141 firmware from Vodafone UK. The good news is that since it’s an official firmware, you won’t have to worry as much about voiding your warranty as such. That being said, it’s still a good idea to exercise caution and always backup your data before you perform a firmware update, regardless of whether it’s official or not.

BlackBerry Storm 2 Rumor

BlackBerry Storm 2 Rumor

It looks like we will be seeing a successor the RIM’s BlackBerry Storm sometime in the near future. According to reports, Jim Balsillie was quoted as saying “we have next-generation devices with [touch] and the whole roadmap.” With that in mind, it certainly looks like a new touchscreen BlackBerry device is on the cards. There isn’t any mention of when this new BlackBerry Storm will be released, but there are sources that indicate a period around September 2009, so keep an eye out for it.

AT&T BlackBerry Curve 8900 This Summer

AT&T BlackBerry Curve 8900 This Summer

It looks like AT&T subscribers won’t have to drool at their friends who are on T-Mobile using the BlackBerry Curve 8900, as the AT&T too will be offering the device. The BlackBerry Curve 8900 is a popular device for obvious reasons, especially since it’s smaller, lighter and even has a slightly better camera than the BlackBerry Bold. The AT&T version is largely similar to the one that T-Mobile is offering, albeit lacking the UMA (unlicensed mobile access) feature that it available to T-Mobile subscribers.

4.7.0.122 For Telus BlackBerry Storm

4.7.0.122 For Telus BlackBerry Storm

Telus subscribers can rejoice at the fact that the carrier has finally released the 4.7.0.122 build for the Blackberry 9530. This release, which comes after Bell had released a similar build, puts Verizon way down the list of carriers who are releasing up to date builds, as there still isn’t any such update from the carrier yet. Verizon really should get its act together in terms of keeping its devices updated, don’t you think?
