Home > htc > HTC releases Beats Audio API

We reported earlier that an Android developer managed to port Beats Audio onto non-Gingerbread devices, but if you’re a HTC owner with a Beats Audio phone, like the Sensation XE or Rezound, you’ll be excited to hear that HTC has released the API for Beats Audio. Unfortunately while some claim that this does indeed provide much better audio quality, its use was limited to the stock music app, and nowhere else. Thankfully the release of this API means that developers will now be able to start creating apps and tools that will bring the Beats Audio profile to the rest of the device, i.e. while watching YouTube, Google Music, etc. If you’re a developer and you’d like to get your hands on the API, the download link and further information can be found at HTC’s website.
