One of the main problems about HTC’s 4G LTE phone, the ThunderBolt was its horrendous battery life due to its always on 4G connection. One of the solutions to the problem was to fork out some extra cash to get the larger battery for the phone, but not everybody is willing to fork out so much money just for a fix. Some folks have decided to come up with an app called LTE OnOFF. This free app, available on the Android Market, allows users to turn off the 4G radio on the device to make use of 3G over CDMA instead. You can use the app in areas when there is no 4G (your phone won’t constantly seek a 4G connection, draining the battery) and when you don’t even require a 4G connection – i.e. just reading text online. Head here to download LTE OnOFF.
