Pantech IM-S410 Supports Wind Recognition

Pantech IM-S410 Supports Wind Recognition

Pantech has come up with the IM-S410 with a rather unique feature, which is Wind Recognition. In case you were thinking of something rude, it’s not that, rather it will be able to evaluate the amount of wind that blows through the microphone, and you can use that to do tricks like blowing on an image of a flower to see its petals flit away. It’s quite a novel idea, though it really has no practical use.

Pantech Sky Wind Has Blow Controls

Pantech Sky Wind Has Blow Controls

Most mobile phone users out there haven’t handled a Pantech phone before, but that’s probably because the phones aren’t too widespread outside of South Korea, though it didn’t stop the company from shipping more than 10 million handsets last year. The latest handset from Pantech is the Sky Wind, and as its name implies, it has something to do with wind. The phone actually features “blow-controls”, which allows users to get the phone to switch wallpapers, adjust the phone’s brightness or even snap a photo by blowing over the phone’s microphone. The handset has an Emotion Engine, which is developed by Fantalog Interactive. Of course, all of this is certainly a gimmick, but it’s a cool gimmick nonetheless. The Pantech Sky Wind will be available in February, though there isn’t any official pricing on the device just yet.

Pantech Slate Pictured Again

Pantech Slate Pictured Again

While Pantech is claiming that its Slate is the world’s thinnest QWERTY phone, it definitely won’t be able to claim that it’s the world’s prettiest, not by a long mile. The phone isn’t too expensive at $50, but whether you’ll be able to stomach its looks is another thing. The blue version of the phone has been pictured here, and it’s supposedly trickling into AT&T stores.

Pantech Slate Live Picture

Pantech Slate Live Picture

You’ve seen the official-looking picture of the Pantech Slate, which claims to be the world’s thinnest full QWERTY device, now take a gander at a live shot of the phone, do you still want it? It doesn’t look like the phone will be available in the color that it’s currently pictured in, but that shouldn’t be too much of an issue for prospective buyers. According to Engadget, the phone should go on sale by the end of the month and will be priced below $50, though it will be missing 3G.
