BenQ Announces C36 Music Phone

BenQ Announces C36 Music Phone

BenQ has unveiled its latest music phone, the C36. With the lines between MP3 players and phones blurring, the variety of music phones seem to be on the rise. With BenQ’s latest C36, users get dedicated music buttons to make the music experience an exciting one, not least with the stereo speakers at the back of the phone. Throw in FM radio, and the ability to record the radio directly on the phone, and it’s quite an interesting music phone.

Aside from the usual music applications, BenQ has generously included software not necessarily related to music, such as a health management application, an e-book reader, as well as the ability for the phone to function as a webcam using it’s 1.3 megapixel camera when connected to a computer. Not to mention the necessity for most phones nowadays, which is accepting microSD cards as expansion, allowing people to add memory cards to suit to bring their music library along with them.

BenQ makes a splash with M7

BenQ makes a splash with M7

BenQ's M7 smartphone was specially designed to by stylish and versatile, but at the same time it has been constructed to withstand just about the everyday knocks and drops a cellphone experiences throughout its lifetime. The protective outer layer that wraps the handset is water- and sand-proof, being impervious to just about most natural elements that could potentially cause damage to the sensitive electronics circuit within. Despite all the protection, the BenQ M7 is not gimped as it comes with 3G connectivity, an integrated GPS navigation system, a 2 megapixel camera, a secondary VGA camera and a built-in multimedia player.

BenQ releases the M7

BenQ releases the M7 Back in June we heard of BenQ's plan to release a trio of new phones, including M7 included. Originally planned for an August release, the M7 has finally made its way to the market. The M7 phone is tough, made to withstand most drops and usual abuses, though it has the benefit of not looking like typical rugged phones, having better design than most sturdy phones.

The M7 also offers 3G high-speed connectivity, as well as a 2 MP camera and Assisted-GPS (A-GPS) support.

Music-centric BenQ C30

Music-centric BenQ C30
The BenQ C30 is a music-centric handset that features external music controls located right at the top of the handset, making it possible for you to control your favorite tunes even when the phone is residing inside your pocket. Not only do you get to enjoy your favorite MP3s, you can also tune in to the FM radio for some up-to-date news. The BenQ C30 comes in a black and orange color scheme that is reminiscent of the Walkman line of cellphones from Sony Ericsson. Other features include dual speakers and sound recording, and chances are BenQ would've thrown in some sort of digital camera function into the fray as well. No idea on how much it'll cost nor when will it be released though.

BenQ T80 powered by Windows Mobile

BenQ T80 powered by Windows Mobile
BenQ has unveiled the T80 to excite smartphone fans, and judging from the specifications, this Windows Mobile-powered handset is nothing to sneeze at. It features WiFi connectivity as well as NFC (Near Field Capability) - something unheard of in other smartphones. The keypad somewhat resembles that of Motorola's RAZR, featuring a rather glossy exterior that will surely attract fingerprints like moths to a lamp. Other features include a microSD memory card slot and e-wallet capability. Guess this opens up more avenues for hackers to come in and steal your life savings, but hey - what are the chances of that? Just try not to put too much cash in that account at any one time and you ought to be good.

BenQ sticks to cellphones

BenQ sticks to cellphones
BenQ has plans to launch a trio of cellphones in the second half of August, and they are the E72, M7, and T51. All this will happen once the SF71 is released to the consumers, being the last BenQ-Siemens dual-branded handset. There is no word on pricing or specifications of all those cellphones, but the SF71 looks like any other ordinary clamshell handset. No word on when support for BenQ-Siemens cellphones will cease, and this could cause consumers to shun the SF71 due to the possible lack of long term support.

BenQ T80 paraded at Computex

BenQ T80 paraded at Computex
BenQ has taken the opportunity to show off its T80 slider cellphone at Computex 2007. Very little is known about the T80 other than a projected Q2 release within this year and a recommended retail price of $350. The T80 will come with Near Field Communication (NFC) capability, and the laser-etched keypad reminds one of Motorola's stunning (when it first came out, that is) RAZR cellphone. The glossy exterior looks like a prime candidate for fingerprints to make their mark, so wiping the T80 would be a pretty common thing to do for its future owners.

Running on Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard, the E72 features a 2" QVGA TFT LCD display, Bluetooth 2.0 and WiFi connectivity, a 2 megapixel camera, a microSD memory card slot, and voice recording capabilities. The candybar form factor isn't exactly awe-inspiring, and the material used makes it a prime candidate to attract fingerprints. Pricing and availability details are unknown.

BenQ phone calls you fat

BenQ phone calls you fat

I'm not sure what BenQ is thinking, but they have apparently thought of a way for future iterations of their handsets to include the ability to tell you your body fat ratio. All you need to do is touch the two separate electrodes located at the cellphone's sides, and the built-in chip will automatically measure the electrical signal between them that in turn determines the body's impedance, resulting in the amount of body fat your chubby self has. Pretty interesting idea, but chances are you won't see many units fly off the shelves as people generally want to be told how slim they are.

BenQ Siemens SF71 is all shiny

BenQ Siemens SF71 is all shiny
The BenQ Siemens SF71 will be released in Taiwan anytime now, and this handset features a very nice mirror-effect screen design that will not only attract envious stares from those around, but plenty of fingerprints as well. The entire keypad is flat in nature and made of metal. This 3G-enabled handset comes with a 2 megapixel camera, a VGA camera for video calls, Bluetooth A2DP connectivity, and a 2" 256k color QVGA LCD display. Pricing details for the Taiwan market have yet to be confirmed, but if you want to get one of these, make sure you carry a lint-free cloth in your pocket as well to wipe fingerprints off the SF71 every five minutes or so.
