Back in February during the Mobile World Congress, Huawei announced three Diamond-Class smartphones and of the three, the one that was the most away from the spotlight was the Ascend D1. Today however, that has changed because the device was spotted at the FCC. It seems that the Ascend D1 has made it through the watchful eyes of the folks over at the FCC and come out victorious.

With regards to the report however, no details were proffered except for a few that the documents indicated. Firstly, it showed that the phone would come with a quadband GSM and pentaband HSPA+ / WCDMA which is something that AWS fans will be looking forward to. While the phone did not carry any carrier badging, we do know that the unlocked version of the Ascend D1 will work on AT&T and T-Mobile without any problem. From the report, it seems that Huawei is still on track for what was a promised Q2 release and if all things go well, it seems that we might be seeing it’s more powerful siblings soon enough.
