Taiwan-based chassis make Catcher Technology has recently received orders from Amazon for a new Kindle Fire tablet PC. Several online reports also say that Catcher decline to comment on which client of theirs placed the order. However, it is known that Catcher will supply the chassis to Amazon from its plants in Taizhou, China with estimated gross margin to be exceeding 40%.

This year Catcher is said to be increasing its number of CNC machines to 15,000 to deal with the increasing demand of tablet PCs such as Apple’s new iPad. Rumors regarding the awaited Kindle Fire 2 Android tablet from Amazon will allegedly feature a larger screen from the range of 9 to over 10 inches according to online reports. While there has only been speculation regarding a possible release date, if the rumors are true, the release could just be around the corner. But until an official statement has been released, please take the rumors with a pinch of salt as always.
