iOS 5 Roundup

So yesterday was Apple’s WWDC and they revealed several new changes and introduced their iCloud services, Mac OS X Lion and more importantly revealed iOS 5 which brought about many changes that iOS users have been hoping for since the first iPhone.

Check out our thoughts on some of the key features after the break.

  1. New notification center
  2. iMessage
  3. Safari Tabbed Browsing
  4. Camera Updates
  5. Tether free, OTA Updates
  6. Twitter Integration

These features only scratch the surface of the changes that iOS 5 will be bringing to the table. Apparently there are over 200 new changes to the iOS, new reminder applications, camera LED flash ring notifications and etc. One has to wonder how developers will feel about these changes as some of these features basically render certain applications useless, or will iOS 5’s features underperform and underdeliver thus bringing back users to apps that they are familiar with?

Native apps tend to add a lot more convenience than third party apps so let’s hope that iOS 5 will deliver what they promised but so far so good. This is also by no means all iOS 5 has to offer as it is currently in beta so we’re going to assume the final version will be more polished and more stable, and perhaps add more features than what we had previous expected.
