ITC: Motorola Patent Not Infringed By iPhone

Published

on

It was earlier this morning when the legal eagles over at Apple managed to score another victory over Motorola, Google’s subsidiary, concerning an alleged patent infringement. The thing is, the ITC ruled in favor of Apple, and this marks a second defeat for Google in just a week, since last Friday, there was a German court that denied Motorola Germany an injunction against Microsoft concerning a rather dubious push notification patent.

Motorola was contending that the patent of theirs which was infringed by Apple had something to do with sensors that prevent a handset from accidentally dialing a phone number whenever a touchscreen is pushed up against a user’s face. Hopefully this would clear the air on both sides, and both companies can get back to innovating their products instead of tussling it out over patent infringements, alleged or otherwise.
