Staying at the same place where you are is always not a good idea, especially when you are in a highly competitive industry. Sure, you might argue that it is not as bad as sliding backwards, but doom would be inevitable either way. The only method to survive would be to move forward in terms of innovation, in order to keep up with the Joneses or remain ahead of the pack. I guess this does seem to be the route that Amazon has taken with regard to their Kindle Fire tablet, with rumors of Amazon introducing a sequel to the highly popular Kindle Fire at their event this coming September 6th.

Right now, the Kindle Fire does face some pretty stiff competition from the likes of Google’s recently introduced Nexus 7 tablet, and assuming rumors concerning a new iPad mini that encroaches on the 7” tablet space, then Amazon has plenty of work to do to make sure they continue to lead in this market segment, hence rumors for a new Kindle Fire being in the works. What do you think – will a new Kindle Fire deliver the kind of performance and capability that the market is looking for at a reasonable price?
