If you happen to own either the Motorola Xyboard 10.1 or the Motorola Xyboard 8.2, where both of them are not even a year old in existence, then you will be pleased to hear that your respective tablets are due for an operating system update – and I am referring to the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update, where this bit of news was made available to the masses thanks to Verizon Wireless. It does not matter whether you are using the Wi-Fi only version or otherwise, you should still be able to get your Ice Cream Sandwich action going on – if not now, in the weeks to come.

It is not Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but at least it is better than nothing, delivering the kind of leap from Android 3.2 Honeycomb to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, where most of the changes involve the more subtle components such as an improved built-in browser in addition to Face Unlock for that added bit of security. In addition, the most recent Motorola USB driver will enable the Xyboard to hook up to a computer for file transfer purposes, in addition to improved network connectivity. How has your update been treating you?
