Motorola Droid Bionic’s Ice Cream Sandwich update seems to be perpetually delayed

The Motorola Droid Bionic does not seem to be able to receive its long overdue Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system update, and it seems that the update has certainly taken its own sweet time to be released, considering how a far more basic smartphone with lower end hardware specifications have beaten the Motorola Droid Bionic to the punch. Just recently, Sprint released the Kyocera Rise that will carry a single core processor, some RAM, a tiny display, and a release date that makes it just about a year younger compared to the Motorola Droid Bionic.

The Kyocera Rise itself will receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box, putting the Motorola Droid Bionic to shame in terms of an operating system update. Do you think that this is one of the more irritating examples of Android fragmentation? It is rather pathetic to see how higher end devices like the HTC ThunderBolt and Motorola Droid Bionic lagging behind other lower end smartphones when it comes to the operating system version. Ah well, hopefully all’s well that ends well, and like the proverb says, good things always come to those who wait.
