Adobe calls it a day for Flash for Android

I am quite sure that Adobe must have thought that the Flash platform, even on mobile devices, would definitely be able to be all conquering in its nature. The thing is, they probably did not manage to see the looming threat of HTML5 right behind them, and neither did many of us, I suppose. Well, Adobe has conceded that the mobile platform will not prosper with Flash as much as HTML5 will offer said platform, having imposed an August 15th deadline on themselves to pull the plug on Adobe Flash for Android.

I guess that since it is now August 15th, those who try to install a fresh copy of Flash on Android on a smartphone (obviously an Android powered one at that) will be barred from doing so. Still Adobe has had their fair share of chances when it came to consolidating their mobile position globally with something as huge as Android, but since they failed to do so effectively, it seemed that the inevitable was bound to come – so here we are with such a scenario playing out eventually.
