Are you in the market for a spanking new phone? If you have answered in the affirmative, then you might be interested in the Sony Xperia tipo, which has been said to arrive at the FCC and passing through its hoops with flying colors. This will be the ST21a version of the Xperia tipo that potentially hints at a future release sometime in the region. This phone will play nice with AT&T’s 3G bands, which is in line with most of the other Sony Xperia range. There is no promise that AT&T will be able to pick this up, where it will be distributed through the Sony Store in a SIM-free form factor. There is also the chance of the Xperia tipo rolling out in Canada to boot.

The Sony Xperia tipo is said to be an entry level device as part of the Xperia range, sporting a single-core 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7225A chipset, 512MB RAM, a 3.2″ display at 320 x 480 resolution, 2.9GB of internal storage, a microSD memory card slot, a 3.2-megapixel camera that does VGA video recording, and a 1500mAh battery. At least it will arrive with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box.
