Spotify Launches in Australia and New Zealand

Spotify, the popular music-streaming service surfaced at the US in the summer of 2011. Now apparently, the company has announced that it is bringing its service along with a reported 16 million tracks down-under to Australia and New Zealand. The purpose of this move signifies the application’s aggressive growth strategy that it currently uses to expand into new markets. As opposed to the deal made with US customers that included six months of free unlimited access to music, Australian and New Zealand based customers will have full access to the services indefinitely.

Last month, Spotify unveiled its plans to keep the services free beyond the 6-month mark which resulted in an outcry from the people who had paid for the services prior to the announcement. Originally, for those that didn’t sign up for a premium package – ranging from $4.99 to $9.99 a month where the service would limit its users to 10 free hours of streaming music each month. If you’re from either New Zealand or Australia, have you given it a try yet?
