Samsung Tizen Developer Device Gets Video Demo

Published

on

Tizen is a mobile operating system that was launched in September last year which supports standards like HTML5 and WAC. Samsung, which is one of the founding members of the OS has produced a smartphone specifically for developers to create applications for the OS. The phone was showcased during the Tizen developer conference and it features an ARM-based 1.2GHz dual-core processor which does raise some eyebrows because another company that is involved with the creation of Tizen is Intel.

Beyond that the phone apparently has a 720p HD display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and micro-USB capability. Given that Tizen is a product from a collaboration of companies and Samsung is involved, the OS which is shown in the video above is heavily influenced by Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. To clarify, the device which is shown in the video is just a first look and is nowhere near a final device that will come out featuring the OS but with new OS’ like BlackBerry 10 and Windows Phone 8 Apollo coming out on mobile devices in the near future, could we be looking at yet another upcoming player in the game?
