Samsung Galaxy S3 Pre-Orders Hit 9 Million Units

After the launching of Samsung’s latest flagship phone the Galaxy S3 in London earlier this month, it seemed like the handset was sure to be a market success. While that was a speculation based on the device that was presented during the launch, this latest bit of news might prove to be substantial enough. Apparently, the smartphone has already received a staggering amount of 9 million pre-orders and the information comes from an anonymous Samsung executive who allegedly spoke the Korea Economic Daily.

If the information is true, this could be amazing given that the phone is only due for its release into the market at the end of the month. That said however, the pre-sales numbers do not include the phones destined for the American market because the S3 variants complete with LTE capabilities which are rumored to be destined for the States haven’t been given the nod for pre-orders just yet with a rumored release date sometime in June. When it does land in the States however, it will definitely be interesting to see how it stacks up to its predecessor, the mighty Samsung Galaxy S2.
