Samsung Galaxy Note Gets Ice Cream Sandwich Update

Published

on

Earlier this week, there were videos and leaks of an official Ice Cream Sandwich build for Samsung’s Galaxy Note, the famed ‘phablet’. These bits of information suggested that the update was just around the corner and it seems that speculations at that point in time were not far from the truth. Samsung Galaxy Note users are now apparently in the process of receiving their software updates that will bump the OS version from Gingerbread to the glorious and succulent Ice Cream Sandwich. The update will come over-the-air (OTA) and is reportedly 319MB in size.

After the software update was delayed from Q1 to Q1 of this year, many users of the phablet were disgruntled but this news will put a smile on their faces. That said however, the leaked videos that we managed to watch showed that the latest update will bring Samsung’s UI overlay, TouchWiz with it so most users will not really see much of a difference from their current UI. On the contrary, there is the addition of Samsung’s Premium Suit of applications which are said to feature with this firmware update. Do let us know if you have already received your update notification but be warned that users should use Wi-Fi to download it so you do not incur any additional data-related costs.
