LG Denies Wanting to Abandon Windows Phone Ship for Android

Yesterday there was a news story floating around the internet that seemed to show that South Korean electronics giant LG was looking to take a step back from producing Windows Phone OS devices and instead, concentrate on Android devices. Today however, a new development has surfaced which indicates that LG never even said that.

In the alleged interview with the Korea Herald, LG has clarified that the actual statement made by the company to the publication was, “The total unit of Windows Phones sold in the global market is not a meaningful figure,” but apparently it continued to say that it vowed to continue its research and development efforts on the OS for their future smartphones.

“Regardless of which OS, LG is committed to offering consumers as wide a choice as possible,” said another Korea-based source which clarified what the company had said the day before. What this effectively means is that the South Korean company LG, never wanted to jump ship and hope on the Android train full-time but wants to concentrate on both and move forward in those directions. What do you think about this development?
