On Monday Apple released a small update that will bring your iOS version up to 5.1.1. The operating system should be allowed for use with the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. The company announced that it includes some fixes including a shortcut that allows users to take HDR photos directly from the Lock Screen more reliably. It also improved Safari bookmarks as well as reading list syncing. Besides that, Apple also optimized and fixed the bug that was discovered on its new iPad which prevented the device from successfully switching between 2G and 3G networks.

In addition to that, other bugs concerning AirPlay video playback were also addressed. Finally, for all of you who have seen the alert that says, “Unable to purchase” after successfully placing a purchase, you’ll be happy to know that the update also fixes that issue. The update is downloadable directly from your device and if you are already running iOS 5 or later just launch the ‘Settings’ select ‘General’ then tap on ‘Software Update’. Since it is a minor update the file that needs to be downloaded is smaller in size at only 60MB. If you have noticed any other changes that were addressed with the update, do let us know about it with a comment below.
