HTC One X and EVO 4G Delayed at US Customs

The much anticipated HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G smartphones seem to have hit a road-block as the shipment for both phones were delayed as part of an investigation.  The investigation in question is about a previous alleged patent infringement with Apple in which the latter won an exclusion order that effectively bans the imports of HTC Android devices at the International Trade Commission last December. The patent in particular is the one involving “personal data and mobile communication devices”.

HTC released an official statement saying, “The US availability of the HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE has been delayed due to a standard US Customs review of shipments that is required after an ITC exclusion order. We believe we are in compliance with the ruling and HTC is working closely with Customs to secure approval.” What is important to take into consideration is that the US Customs is investigating the One X and EVO 4G LTE with respect to its prior ruling. With that said, it is understandable that the authorities have temporarily blocked the imports. On the other hand, HTC is assuring customers that the devices will soon make it through the stumbling block and will soon be in their eagerly awaiting arms. What do you think about this development?
