Google Maps for Android Updated; Indoor Features Added

on

For what seems the second time in just two weeks, Google has updated its mapping application for its Android platform. The update brings with it integration with the Google Offers deal program. On top of that Google has also added navigation on the interior of some buildings. For now, the indoor service is only available in selected areas at the US and Japan. Finally, the Mountain View online search giant modified the Street View function which now provides 360-degree panoramic views inside of stores as well as other venues.

With the integration of Google Offers however, it seems like it will be receiving much more attention in the future but for now, it will use the GPS on your phone to determine the nearest offers in a variety of categories; some of which can be used instantly while the others can be saved to your account. As for indoor navigation, it has been around for some time but it is still in beta and if users would like to utilize the indoor panorama feature, they’ll need to download the updated Street View for Google Maps application.
