BlackBerry PlayBook 4G LTE to get 1.5GHz dual-core processor and NFC

After 2011’s Mobile World Congress, RIM announced its plans to launch two additional BlackBerry 4G PlayBooks which would feature support for both LTE and HSPA+ networks. After a few months now, there has been no official announcement of it coming along although it has had its share of leaked images and information that proves it is in the works. Before the BlackBerry World 2012 keynote which happened yesterday, a marketing executive from the Canadian company RIM took a little time to brief a few people about what would be the upcoming PlayBook 4G LTE.

The slide which is indicated above is a bit blur but what it says in essence is that RIM will be launching the 4G LTE PlayBook with an updated 1.5GHz processor, near-field communication (NFC) along with a feature which has been aptly named ‘always connected to e-mail’ which highlights the BlackBerry Mobile Fusion feature. From what is shown and what was discussed, the display of the LTE version of the PlayBook will remain at 7-inches with the OS being either version 2.0 or 2.1. That said however, there was no news about when the tablet would be officially launched or how much it would cost.
