Windows Phone 8 Apollo Features Allegedly Leaked [Rumor]

A tipster on Chinese WPXAP.com forums has revealed that his friend has been testing the upcoming Windows Phone 8 OS on his Nokia Lumia 800 in the US. While this story still doesn’t hold up as a substantial fact, some of the features he mentions that are on the OS are yet to be heard off. Apparently, the UI remains relatively unchanged to that of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango but touch sensation and speed have allegedly been improved.

On top of that he mentioned that the default browser for Windows Phone OS has been completely overhauled to better support the Chinese language and has a new feature he describes as “gravity sensing” which apparently means that it is able to lock the screen orientation. Another thing that has allegedly been including on the so-called test unit is Virtual Private Network (VPN) but that along with everything else is not confirmed but seeing as VPN is something that seems to be sought after by many Windows Phone users, who know what can happen.

Now for the obvious question, if the alleged tester in the US is running the update on a Lumia 800, this can only mean that the Microsoft Evangelist, Nuno Silva who told Portuguese media that all Windows Phone OS devices would be able to run it might have been telling the truth even if his statement was later challenged by two other sources saying otherwise. Like all other rumors, we urge you to take this one with a pinch of salt and until the OS makes its way to the public reportedly around the month of October, it looks like we’ll just have to wait and see.
