It has been common knowledge for awhile that most smartphone OS’ have some connection to Linux. For example, Android operating system is one of the many mobile OS platforms which run a Linux-based OS. If the OS is not heavily associated with Linux there will be traces of it underneath which have helped the said OS develop. Now it seems Ubuntu Linux which is best known for being the most used Linux distribution around the globe has got plans to enter into the mobile OS fray themselves.

The company behind Ubuntu Linux, Canonical has issued a ‘for higher’ post on their website for a ‘Business Development Manager (Ubuntu Phone OS)- there can be no clearer evidence that Ubuntu might be bringing their platform to the mobile world. But while there is not other information to provide you readers, please take this information with a pinch of salt. The responsibilities that the employee that is hired will have to fulfill is to build a commercial environment around the Ubuntu Smartphone OS. Does the news get you as excited as we all are? It’s always good when another competitior join the fray and it seems that Android OS’ days of saying it is the most open-sourced of all the OS’ out there may be coming to an end.
