If you are heading out for the summer whether it’s the beach, a music festival or a picnic, the portable iPhone/iPod dock from Eton may be worth looking at. According to the sales blurb from CrowdedBrain, the solar powered iPhone dock will boom out tunes in without the need of a power point.

The dock called the Soulra XL comes with a built in powerful lithium ion battery and a fold-out solar panel. With it, the music will continue for hours on end. According to them, the Soulra will keep playing for up to 5 hours after the sun has gone down and can even generate enough power to charge your Apple gadget in around 4 hours. If you are worried about your device while it’s docked, the Soulra will come with a cover that will protect it while it is in use.

The briefcase-like solar-powered Soulra comes with 8 speakers, two woofers, two tweeters, four passive radiators which collect the bass from below and help surge it out through the woofers, a 22-watt amplifier, 72 square inch monocrystal solar panel, remote control, carrying strap, standby power save mode, rubberized end caps, 5 hours playback (depending on volume), audio line input and will cost a potential buyer £199.95 ($318) from Firebox.
