The music tagging application Shazam is already famous among smartphone users around the world but it a recent dealing with the magenta carrier T-Mobile, it has now reached a special place within the company’s ‘Music Hub’. This move is obviously in order to gain a larger market share in the slowly saturating music tagging industry. T-Mobile’s ‘Music Hub’ features the popular music/video discover app for free download by T-Mobile customers and just for them, the free app comes with unlimited tagging and LyricPlay streaming lyrics.

As of late, Shazam has been adding on to its repertoire. Instead of focusing on just music tagging it has even ventured into video tagging and also connecting to popular TV shows which have reached deals with the company behind Shazam, a good example being American Idol. If you don’t already know about that, Shazam has implemented a deal with American Idol that allows its episodes to be tagged by Shazam which opens up a plethora of download and other options for users. During any point in the show, just whip out your smartphone and Shazam an episode to see what I mean. Let us know if you’ve given it a try, and if you’re on T-Mobile and you haven’t downloaded the music-tagging application, do give the ‘Music Hub’ a look-see.
