Samsung Galaxy S3 Mentioned in Official Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2012 App on Google Play Store

As previous reports have indicated, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S3 which is said to be launched at an upcoming ‘Unpacked’ event in London on May 3 has led to an official app which provides details of the launch. The app which can be found in the Google Play Store is free for download and offers juicy bits of updates and press release and other features most of which will only be active on the day of the event.

Apparently, under the ‘description’ of the app the phrase, “Samsung Galaxy s3” is noted there. Some reports have indicated that this points in the direction of the upcoming device to be named as such. With the tagline “The next galaxy” being used more and more in Samsung’s teasers and trailer, there is also the chance that the company might follow in the footsteps of Apple’s new iPad and name the next flagship product something along the lines of “The Next Galaxy”. That said however, this could just be a simple thing that Samsung have done to magnetize the app for search engines.

Obviously with the launch date looming nearer and nearer, global search engines will be abuzz with the phone’s alleged name and that will make the app easier to find. What do you think about this bit of information? Do you think the phone will be called The Next Galaxy or does this little so-called slip-up mean that Samsung will continue with its former naming strategy and stick with the Samsung Galaxy S3?
