After a truly torrential 12 months for the Canadian company, RIM is in the works of releasing its first BlackBerry 10 device. The next-gen BlackBerry device is rumored to be the one that will either safe the company or stand alongside it as it sinks. There have been leaks about the device but nothing as concrete as we would like. From an online report, the folks over at n4bb claims that a source has let them in on a bit of information about the BlackBerry 10 device coming by mid-August.

The BlackBerry 10 device in question will allegedly be touch only and the source has informed them that RIM plans to pump in a lot of money for marketing purposes. The first traditional QWERTY keyboard BlackBerry 10 release has also been reported to be in Q1 2013. This might be the BlackBerry Slider that has been floating about the internet in the form of a rumor so it doesn’t hold much water. That said, with companies like RIM and Nokia, the mobile world hopes that they bounce back with devices that will make it harder to stay with their current devices. If they don’t then they will eventually end up losing the battle of siphoning Android and iPhone users away from their currently preferred smartphones.
