Nokia PureView 808 Pre-Orders in Europe Begin, Shipping Expected in May

The Nokia PureView that was shown off by Nokia in MWC this year is much like any other smartphone nowadays except for two things. The first is that it is running on Nokia’s Symbian OS. The second is what users will want this device for; a whopping 41MP camera. Besides that, the phone will have a 1.3 GHz single-core chip, a 4-inch display with a 360×640 (nHD) resolution, 512MB of RAM, 16GB of storage space which can be expanded with a microSD and a Pentaband modem.

Apparently, the way the 41MP camera can churn out photos that are small in size (relatively) is through some hocus pocus which involves merging 4 or 5 pixes into one which makes it crystal clear as well as easier to upload or transfer. The phone is now available for pre-order in Italy with an expected date of availability in May. For now, reports state that it will be sold at around $785 unlocked but since that is the price quoted in Italy, there is no news yet of how different or similar it would be in the US.
