Meizu Releases Public Android 4.0.3 Beta ROMs for MX/M9

Meizu may have started out as a manufacturer of a cheaper brand of mobile devices. Lately however, the company has been reaching into the mainstream without attracting too much attention. Owners of Meizu’s flagship MX as well as their M9 will be glad to know that their manufacturer has released a public Ice Cream Sandwich ROM that is available for download which is something that not many phone users who own more established and respectable devices can say.

Both the above mentioned devices shipped with a custom UI and the ICS press release suggests that this Beta ROM is totally stock. Owners of both devices can go to the official Meizu Community post linked here to download the link to get firmware v1037 along with instructions as to how to go about performing the installation. Naturally with the ROM still in Beta, features like Meizu backup and recovery are said to not work on this version of the ROM. But all in all, the release seems to bode well for Meizu and their customers. Let us know if you have tried it for yourself with a comment below.
