LG is rumored to be putting out yet another smartphone called the D1L which is said to have the capability to take on the likes of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S III. This rumor originates from Digital Daily, a South Korean news outlet which published a slide showing LG’s smartphone information for 3G and 4G LTE for 2012.

According to rumors that have been floating about it online, the device is likely to come with a 4.7-inch screen with 1280 x 720 pixels in resolution. It will be powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor. The specifications listed among the rumors sounds a lot like that of the LG Optimus 4X HD which was unveiled in February but DigitalDaily says that the device will be launched in June.

Whether or not this particular device has been produced for a specific South Korean market remains to be seen but the one thing that is for sure is that LG will definitely have to pull out all the stops to compete with the much rumored and much anticipated upcoming Samsung flagship smartphone. After being dominated by Samsung last year with devices like the Optimus 2X, Optimus 3D and the Optimus Pad LG will be looking to turn the tables on Samsung’s Galaxy range of products this year.
