Next iPhone to have 1GB of RAM with A5X-like Chip [Rumor]

Apple has allegedly internally seeded a prototype of the next-generation iPhone in an iPhone 4/4S casing. The reason they have apparently done this is to avoid leaks of how the upcoming iPhone will look like. The seed revealed that the new iPhone will be running the iPad’s A5X processor or one similar to it along with 1GB of RAM (double what is on the iPhone 4S). Besides that, An iOS 5.1 build revealed new iPod touch information which to a simultaneous double launch this summer since there was no new iPod Touch last year.

The folks over at 9to5Mac seem to think that since the A5X processor for the iPad leans on graphic capability tremendously, it would not be an ideal fit for the upcoming iPhone but they also report that Apple’s prototype seems to have a variation of it that has been tweaked presumably to emphasize on other features of the upcoming device. Today is just another day with even more rumors about Apple’s latest flagship phone so as usual, do take the information here with several pinches of salt regardless of how exciting 1GB of RAM would be on the already quick and snappy iPhone 4S which only has 512MB of RAM.
