Intel Medfield Lava Xolo X900 Launched in India

The world’s first Intel powered smartphone has been officially launched in India. The phone is said to be running an Intel Medfield platform. The Xolo X900 has an Atom Z2460 Soc that includes a single-core 1.6GHz Saltwell CPU with Hyper-Threading, PowerVR SGX540 GPU which clocked at 400MHz and a 32-bit dual channel LPDDR2 memory. Besides that, the device included a 4.3-inch display with 1024×600 pixels in resolution giving it 295 pixels per inch (ppi), a 8MP rear snapper with flash, 10fps burst mode and 1080p video recording, 1.3MP front facing camera for video chat capabilities, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, HSPA+ connectivity up to 21Mbps, HDMI out and built-in NFC. While there is talk of an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, the phone will be shipping with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Lava Xolo X900 has been priced at $423 and you will be able to purchase it from Croma or the manufacturer’s website.
