Former Apple CEO Marks Samsung Tab as iPads Only Rival

Former Apple CEO who parted with the Cupertino based company in 1993; John Sculley, has singled out Samsung’s Galaxy Tab line as the only serious competition to the new iPad which was recently was released to record-breaking sales numbers. The former CEO stated that his former company has “many good years ahead” of it as market leader in the sector.

He told the EconomicTimes that while we know that the landscape can alter very quickly but Apple has an extraordinary executive team. He iterates that while Sony which has to deal with the challenges of the legacy business (referring to the money losing television business), Apple is riding a wave and has the luxury of focusing all its talent on the future. Sculley, who joined Apple from Pepsi in 1983 infamously, licensed Apple’s software to Microsoft for the development of Windows 1.0 only to take them to court over Windows’ successor, version 2.0.
