Brydge Transforms iPad into a MacBook Air

With the enormous success that the Asus Transformer Prime has seen with its keyboard dock, the folks over at Kickstarter thought it would be a great idea to churn out a similar concept gadget for the famous iPad. The pledge-for-money has taken on a company called Brydge who is doing just that. It offers a MacBook-ish keyboard suited up in “aerospace-grade aluminum” turning into a 1.2kg clamshell laptop with the help of a hinge. The attached keyboard by Brydge comes with different variants.

The cheaper one which is going at $150 will be the basic keyboard and the one with built-in speakers can be pledged for $180 at Kickstarter. The keyboard can connect with your iPad via Bluetooth and that is nothing new but the extra impressive feature here is that it has its own battery which can be charged over a microUSB link. If you are interested in having one of these for yourself, head over to the Kickstarter website and have a look at it for yourself. Brydge will be shipping the product internationally if required.
