Acer Iconia Tab A100 and A500 Gets Android 4.0 ICS Update

After only recently releasing its latest range of tablets, Acer has announced that the A100 and A500 tablets will be receiving the update to Android version 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich this week starting April 27. That said however, the update has apparently been rolling about for a few weeks in Europe but as for users in US in Canada it seems like they will have to wait until April 27. Online reports have indicated that a few lucky users in Canada were privileged to the update last night and since that happened, the US update should be just around the corner.

Back in February, there were sightings of a leaked version of the software but nothing official until now. While we are still looking for an official changelog with no luck as yet the sources involved have confirmed that once the update does land, it will be followed by another smaller 17MB update which will most likely solve a few minor bugs and glitches. So cross your fingers and hope that it lands for your Acer Iconia A100/A500 by Friday at least.
