As always, we here at Uberphones get excited when software updates begin rolling off the shelves. This time, owners of Verizon’s Droid Charge will be pleased to know that a firmware update which will bring their device up to FP1 is on the docket. While the update like most Android updates contain mainly bug fixes and minor improvements, one addition; Verizon Remote Diagnostics is a big boost for the phone which will help with using the device and should your device give problems (i know, sad) the troubleshooting will be made easier.

The other features borne in this update are the updated UI, Wireless Alerting System enabled, USB tethering while in Wi-Fi mode, and a few more as you can refer in the picture above. Issues such as problematic noises (clicking sounds) during calls as well as the ‘no tones’ dial pad issue were also addressed. The update will come in at 85MB and should already be rolling out. However, if you are yet to see it, you can always check manually by going through the following steps, Menu -> Settings -> About Phone -> System Updates. To avoid extra data charges, please use a Wi-Fi connection to download this update.
