Lenovo, the company that produces computers, smartphones as well as tablets has launched the Lenovo Enterprise App Shop which focuses primarily on the “business” aspect of things. The Android based application store is designed to help corporate users with productivity apps on their Lenovo device of any other compatible Android-based tablet. The app shop will allow companies to create their own tablet application shops for use by their staff. Companies can also offer staff their own ‘private’ corporate apps via the Lenovo tablet app store.

The Vice President of Ecosystem and Monetization of Lenovo, Mark Cohen said that with the influx of personal and mobile devices in the workplace, it is essential for companies to manage the proprietary and third-party applications their employees are using. The newly created app shop has already undergone stringent testing to ensure malware and offensive content- free apps that run well on Lenovo tablets. Cohen also goes on to say that the app shop was designed specifically for the enterprise featuring LDAP integration and cross Android platform support to facilitate IT management while giving users the apps they are demanding to optimize productivity.
