Fake Android store in China sells Apple products

After reports online last year highlighting fake Apple Stores in China, the latest story of a fake Android Store there is hardly surprising as Google’s Android OS accounts for more than half of China’s smartphones. Like the reason why all fake products exist, only when it reaches the pinnacle of its fame will people bother with its production.

China based blogger Brian Glucroft spotted a rather obvious looking Android Store in Nanping town which is in Guangdong province. The interesting thing about this store is that besides an array of Android devices, it also peddled Apple products. It is more than likely that Google will take the necessary steps to close the store down, but as Brian points out, the more pressing matter is that of pride. To allow iPhone merchandise to be traded in a store labelled as its prime competitor is nothing less than a blow below the belt.

As Glucroft states, it is often said that Android has catching up to do in terms of glamour and an Android Store displaying their competitors wares proves that point pretty emphatically. Just to be sure, Brian found out that Apple had a registered retailer in Zhuhai but to clarify, this was not it.
