Apple has decided to settle a class action product liability lawsuit that which claimed the company iPhone 4 had a poor antenna design which caused not only dropped calls but also poor signals. According to a legal statement sent to users of the iPhone  4, the company will reimburse the owners (or previous owners) with either $15 or a free black bumper case (worth $29) which is said to remedy the problem of the antennagate.

Here’s the twist, a statement from Apple in February said that that only a ‘small number’ of people will qualify for the settlement. They say that in order to ‘qualify’ for reimbursement, iPhone 4 owners or past owners much meet all of the qualifying factors in the list. They are as follows:

1)      Be a U.S Resident or have owned a iPhone 4 before February 17 2012

2)      Have experienced the antenna issue or bad reception

3)      Have been unable to return the phone without incurring costs

4)      Have completed troubleshooting steps

5)      Did not want case or bumper for the phone
